Interplanetary Magnetic Field
About IMF Forecasting: As the Sun rotates it discharges solar wind in all directions along the Interplanetary Magnetic Field. The graphics below indicate current and projected concentrations of solar wind on the Ecliptic Plane, the plane of our solar system (lines close together indicate high concentration). This service is provided by the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
